Getting there
Northwood Park and Pool is the City of Rutland's municipal outdoor pool and recreation complex, on North Main Street. It is a chlorinated town pool alongside ball fields, playgrounds, and shelters, not a natural pond swim, even though the page is filed as a 'pond' type. The pool opens in mid-June and closes in mid-August on a Rutland Recreation schedule of open swim, lap swim, and lessons. Fees and hours are set by the city; check the Rutland Recreation page before driving over, because schedules shift by week and close for weather. For natural swimming in Rutland County, the Marble Street Quarry in West Rutland (privately owned, serious hazards) and Bomoseen State Park beach are the area's better-known choices.
