Getting there
The Pittsford Recreation Area -- known locally as PittPond -- is a town-run recreation complex at 223 Recreation Area Road in Pittsford, Rutland County, with a lifeguarded swim area at the center of the property. The park also includes a 28-by-60 picnic pavilion, a playground, restrooms, a sand volleyball court, an eighteen-hole disc golf course, walking and hiking trails, a full-size basketball court, two tennis courts, two baseball fields, and a softball field. The gate is open year-round from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. or dusk, whichever is earlier. The town charges daily and seasonal swim passes through the Pittsford Recreation Department; rates and hours for the swim specifically are posted on the department's MyRec site. This is a separate place from Sugar Hollow Pond, a twenty-five-acre lake elsewhere in Pittsford. From US 7 in Pittsford village, follow signs on Furnace Road to Recreation Area Road.
