Getting there
This informal river access sits near the Poland Covered Bridge (also known as the Cambridge Junction Bridge) on the Lamoille River in Cambridge, Lamoille County. The covered bridge itself is a listed historic structure at the edge of Cambridge Junction, and a short run of river just off the road near the crossing is used by locals as a cool-off and tubing pocket. Park in a allowed shoulder spot clear of the bridge and the travel lane, scout the water for depth and current, and respect any posted signage -- the banks include private frontage. The Lamoille is a mid-sized river here with real current after rain and hidden rocks; treat it as scout-first, not a casual beach. For a developed Lamoille swim, use the Brewster River at the VT 108 pull-offs in Jeffersonville or the state park beaches farther east.
