Getting there
Ricker Pond State Park sits on the south end of Ricker Pond in Groton State Forest at 18 Ricker Pond Campground Road, Groton. The park has a small sandy swim beach set below a forested hillside, primarily intended for campers in the adjacent campground, but day-use access is permitted with a standard Vermont State Parks day-use fee. The beach is shallow and family-friendly with a designated roped swim area; there is no lifeguard. Pets are not allowed on the beach. The park is part of the larger Groton State Forest day-use network that also includes Kettle Pond, Boulder Beach, Stillwater, and Osmore Pond; beach access is tied to whichever park you entered. The park runs from Memorial Day weekend Friday through the second Monday in October, 10 a.m. to sunset. From US 302 in Groton, follow VT 232 north about five miles and watch for the campground entrance on the left.
