Getting there
Sand Hill Park is an Essex town park and chlorinated municipal outdoor swimming pool facility, run by the Town of Essex at Sand Hill Road in Essex. The pool is a six-lane twenty-five-yard outdoor pool about three and a half feet deep, attached to a twelve-foot diving well and a small sprayground for younger kids. The park also offers picnic shelters, playgrounds, and open lawn. This is a public pool, not a natural swim, and fits a town-pool listing rather than a natural swim hole guide. The facility opens in June and typically closes in late August, with hours and fees set by the town and posted on the Essex Parks and Recreation page; schedules shift by week and the pool can close on short notice for weather or water chemistry. For natural Chittenden County swimming, Niquette Bay State Park in Colchester or Sand Bar State Park in Milton are the closer fits.
