Getting there
The Stoughton Pond Recreation Area is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers swim beach on Stoughton Pond, part of the North Springfield Lake flood-control project. The recreation area sits in Weathersfield / Perkinsville in Windsor County (this guide stores the town as Westminster, which is incorrect and is flagged for the taxonomy pass). The beach is sandy, shallow, and family-friendly, with picnic tables, portable toilets, a boat launch, and a swim roped swim area. The swim beach operates Friday through Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; the gate is closed Tuesday through Thursday. USACE projects are weather- and operations-sensitive and can close on short notice during flood response. There is no lifeguard. From I-91 Exit 8, follow VT 131 west about five miles, then Stoughton Pond Road to the recreation area.
