Getting there
Stowe Pinnacle Brook Pools is a name used locally for a short run of small brook pockets on Stowe Pinnacle Brook below the popular Stowe Pinnacle hiking trail off Upper Hollow Road in Stowe. This is not a canonical destination; it is a set of small, cold, rocky plunge pools that some hikers stop at on the way out. The water_type stored here is 'quarry' -- that is incorrect and flagged for the taxonomy pass. Park in the marked Stowe Pinnacle trailhead lot, hike the first section of the main trail, and keep an eye out for the worn spur paths down to the brook; footing is rooty and slick. There is no lifeguard, the pools are too small for real swimming, and the approach is steep. For a reliable Stowe swim, Bingham Falls off VT 108 and the Moss Glen Falls (Stowe) natural area are the better-known stops.
