Getting there
Warren Covered Bridge spans the Mad River right in Warren village, a short walk from the Warren Store, in Warren, Washington County. The river below the bridge forms a classic village swim with flat ledges, a small drop, and a deeper pool along one bank. This is an unofficial swim with no lifeguard, no facilities, and no formal signage, and the historic covered bridge itself is posted against climbing. Park in village on-street or in the designated village lots, walk the short path, and respect private frontage on both banks. The Mad River corridor runs cold most of the summer and reacts quickly to rain upstream; do not swim when recent storms have raised flow. For bigger Mad River swims in the same drive, Warren Falls (GMNF) and Ward's Hole off VT 100 are the stronger picks.
