Getting there
Waterbury Center State Park sits on the eastern shore of Waterbury Reservoir at 177 Reservoir Road in Waterbury Center, Washington County. The designated swim area combines a small sandy beach with a wider grassy swim lawn used by most day visitors, backed by picnic sites, restrooms, and changing areas; a boat ramp and canoe, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard rentals run out of the same day-use area through Labor Day. A FREE beach wheelchair and beach mat are available for visitors with mobility needs. Standard Vermont State Parks day-use fees apply at the contact station, hours run from 10 a.m. to official sunset, and the park operates from the Friday of Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED at Waterbury Center State Park. There is no lifeguard, and the Vermont FPR Recreational Water Status page can flag blue-green algae closures in high summer -- check before you leave home. From I-89 Exit 10 in Waterbury, follow VT 100 north about three miles and watch for the Waterbury Center State Park sign on the left.
