Getting there
The West Hill Recreation Area is a town recreation area in Ludlow, Windsor County, with a small brook-fed swim spot and a picnic/play area off West Hill Road. It is a town park, not a state park -- amenities and signage are set by the Town of Ludlow. Expect a small brook pool, grassy lawn, picnic tables, and a short walk from the lot; there is no lifeguard and no supervised beach, and the swim is best treated as a quick cool-down, not a destination swim. Banks above and below are a mix of town and private land. For a developed Windsor County swim, Silver Lake State Park in Barnard and Twenty Foot Hole VRC site in Reading are the stronger choices.
