Getting there
The White River at Blackmer Road Bridge is an informal swim pull-off in Stockbridge, Windsor County (county stored Unknown and flagged), where Blackmer Road crosses the White River near VT 100. Expect a small allowed shoulder pull-off, a short bank path down to cobble shallows, and a deeper bend pool along one side. This is an unofficial swim with no lifeguard and no facilities; banks are a mix of town and private land. The White River here runs cold most of the summer, silty after rain, and current that picks up quickly on flashy thunderstorm days. Park fully clear of the bridge approach, do not block any driveway, and scout depth and current before committing. For more established White River access in the same drive, Peavine Park in Stockbridge and the VRC corridor sites along the White River are stronger picks.
