Getting there
Woodford State Park sits on twenty-three-acre Adams Reservoir in Woodford, Bennington County (county stored Unknown and flagged), at 142 State Park Road off VT 9 east of Bennington. The park is the highest state park in Vermont at around 2,400 feet and combines a small sandy beach and designated swim area, a day-use picnic lawn, canoe and kayak rentals, and a wooded campground of tent, RV, and lean-to sites. Standard Vermont State Parks day-use fees apply at the contact station, hours run from 10 a.m. to official sunset, and the park is open from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend. There is no lifeguard. PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED on the sandy beach but are allowed on leash elsewhere in the park. From Bennington, follow VT 9 east about ten miles and watch for the Woodford State Park sign on the right.
