Getting there
Carver Falls is the tallest major waterfall in Vermont (about 80 feet) on the Poultney River at the West Haven / Hampton NY border. From the West Haven area, turn onto Carvers Falls Lane and use the small roadside pull-off. Follow the chain-link fence about 100 feet to the ADA-accessible viewing platform, which overlooks the dam and upper falls. The lower 50-foot plunge is reached via a rough, narrow, sometimes overgrown path from the base of a black tower -- moderate scramble with steep drop-offs, not for kids.
