Getting there
Deweys Mills Falls -- also known as Mill Pond Falls or Dewey's Mills Dam -- sits at the HEAD of Quechee Gorge in Hartford, not along the roadside. Park at the Quechee Gorge Visitor Center lot on US 4 (state park), walk north away from the main US 4 gorge bridge on the west-side path, and follow the Quechee Gorge Dewey Pond Trail roughly 0.3 mile to the old A.G. Dewey Company dam and the ~30-foot cascade system that feeds the gorge. The falls are viewed from the trail and dam apron -- do not climb on the dam or try to descend into the upper gorge here. This is a look-only stop; swimming happens at designated beaches on the Ottauquechee elsewhere in Hartford / Quechee.
