Getting there
Downer Glen is a named RAVINE / VALLEY feature in the Manchester area -- it is not a destination waterfall in the New England Waterfalls sense. The Prospect Rock Trail (Old Rootville Road) climbs through the Downer Glen ravine alongside a small mountain brook and is the closest thing to a walk-in experience; there is no named, signed waterfall to tour here. If you want a real falls stop in Manchester, use Lye Brook Falls (Lye Brook Wilderness, blue-blazed spur off the Lye Brook Trail, roughly 4.5-4.6 miles round trip). Treat Downer Glen itself as a viewing and naturalist outing rather than a waterfall drive.
