Getting there
Dummerston Falls is a ~25-foot roadside horsetail directly on VT Route 30 in Dummerston. From Brattleboro, take I-91 to Exit 2, then follow US 5 north about 1 mile and turn left onto VT 30; continue north on VT 30 for roughly 5.2 miles from the US 5 / VT 30 intersection. The falls are on the right (east) side of VT 30 as you drive north; the pull-off is the SMALL gravel shoulder on the opposite (west) side, with room for only one or two vehicles. Walk south along VT 30 about 50 feet to the viewing angle -- stay well off the painted fog line, especially on blind curves, and keep kids hand-held the entire time. Do not descend below the falls without scouting; the rocks are polished and slick.
