Getting there
Lye Brook Falls is a 125-foot seasonal plunge in the Lye Brook Wilderness of the Green Mountain National Forest, south of Manchester. Reach the trailhead from US 7 in Manchester by driving east on VT 11 / VT 30 for a quarter mile to East Manchester Road, south on East Manchester Road for about a mile, then left on Glen Road just before the overpass. Bear right at the fork onto Lye Brook Access Road and continue to the gravel lot at its end. From the trailhead, follow the blue-blazed Lye Brook Trail on an old railroad grade for about 1.8 miles, then take the signed spur right to the falls. The trail climbs steadily and crosses several brooks that run high in spring and after storms. The falls look their best in May, June, and after summer rain; by late summer the flow is often a thin veil.
