Getting there
Mad Tom Brook Falls is a short tiered cascade on Mad Tom Brook in Dorset, in the southern Green Mountains. The feature is not a canonical destination, but a short worn path from a shoulder pull-off reaches the brook where it drops over ledges in mixed woods. Park fully on the shoulder, walk carefully down to the water, and respect any private-land signage. The cascade reads best within a day or two of rain; late summer flow often thins out. For a stronger Dorset-area stop, the Dorset Quarry on Kelly Road is the area's well-known swim, subject to its current registration rules.
