Getting there
Milton Falls is the cascade section of the Lamoille River at the Milton hydroelectric dam, on the Milton village edge. The falls have been heavily modified by the hydro project, so the visible drop depends on how much water is being released on a given day; at low-release times the bedrock shows and the flow is thin. This is a viewing-only stop, not a swim. Park in the municipal lots near Milton village, walk to the bridge for the view, and stay out of the penstock and dam corridor. For natural swimming in Chittenden County, Leddy Beach on Lake Champlain in Burlington or Red Rocks Park in South Burlington are the designated public beaches.
