Getting there
Moss Glen Falls is a 125-foot tiered cascade in the Putnam State Forest, north of Stowe village. From Stowe village, drive about 3 miles north on VT 100 and bear right onto Randolph Road. Turn right onto Moss Glen Falls Road and continue about half a mile to the small unpaved lot on the left. From the lot, follow the trail past a short boardwalk and granite steps to the overlook at the falls; total round-trip is about a half mile. This is not a swim hole. Stowe Mountain Rescue and Vermont Public have repeatedly warned against entering the pool at the base, and there have been fatalities in recent years. Stay on the boardwalk and overlook, do not climb down to the plunge, and keep children off the wet ledges. Check trail status before visiting, because the boardwalk bridge has been closed in recent seasons after flood damage.
