Getting there
The Passumpsic Cascades is a lightly-documented set of river cascades on the Passumpsic River in Barnet, Caledonia County, in the Northeast Kingdom. It is not a canonical named waterfall and there is no developed trail or formal pull-off; most of the corridor is private riverfront. Expect a short roadside look from a allowed shoulder where a public road runs close to the river; do not cross fences onto adjacent land. The cascades show best in spring and within a day or two of rain. For a developed Caledonia County stop, the Stephen A. Douglas Birthplace picnic site in Brandon is too far; closer options are the Ricker Pond or Joe's Pond day-use shorelines.
