Getting there
Putnamville Falls is a minor cascade on a small brook in the Putnamville area of Middlesex, Washington County. It is and does not carry a canonical entry in the main Vermont waterfall references; most of the surrounding land is private. Expect a brief roadside look from a allowed shoulder; do not cross fences onto adjacent land. The cascade runs best within a day or two of rain. For a developed Washington County swim, the Wrightsville Reservoir day-use in Montpelier and Waterbury Center State Park on the Waterbury Reservoir are the stronger choices.
