Getting there
Riverton Falls is a short cascade on the Dog River in the West Berlin / Riverton area of Washington County, along the corridor between Northfield and Montpelier. It is and does not carry a canonical entry in the main Vermont waterfall references. Expect a brief roadside look from a allowed shoulder where a public road runs close to the river; do not cross fences. The cascade runs best in spring and within a day or two of rain. For a developed Washington County swim, the Wrightsville Reservoir day-use area in Montpelier and Waterbury Center State Park on the Waterbury Reservoir are the stronger choices.
