Getting there
Rocky Dale is the name of a small neighborhood and creek drop on Baldwin Creek in Bristol, Addison County, at the junction where VT 17 and VT 116 meet on the east side of Bristol village. There is a short run of rocky creek with a small cascade and a shallow pool used by locals as a quick cool-off stop rather than a big swim. The area is flanked by private homes and the former Rocky Dale Gardens nursery property, so parking and access are tight. Park only in a legal spot, do not cross onto private land, and keep the stop short. For a real Addison County swim, Bartlett Falls and Circle Current on the New Haven River just east on Lincoln Road, or the Falls of Lana / Silver Lake at Silver Lake State Park in Leicester, are the developed picks.
