Getting there
Shelburne Falls is a minor cascade on one of the small brooks in Shelburne, Chittenden County. Do not confuse this entry with the far better-known Shelburne Falls in Massachusetts on the Deerfield River -- Vermont's Shelburne Falls is a small roadside feature on a local tributary, not a destination. It is and does not carry a canonical entry in the main Vermont waterfall references; surrounding land is largely private. Expect a brief roadside look from a allowed shoulder; do not cross fences. The cascade runs best within a day or two of rain. For a real Chittenden County day, Shelburne Farms, Shelburne Bay Park, and Oakledge Park in Burlington are the area's stronger destinations.
