Getting there
Simpson Brook Falls is a small tiered cascade on Simpson Brook in Waterford, Caledonia County, in the Northeast Kingdom south of St. Johnsbury. It is and does not carry a canonical entry in the main Vermont waterfall references; the surrounding banks are largely private. Expect a short roadside look from a allowed shoulder and a brief scramble to the brook where public access exists. The cascade runs best in spring and within a day or two of rain. For developed Northeast Kingdom stops, Ricker Pond and Kettle Pond in Groton State Forest and Lake Willoughby's beaches in Westmore are the area's stronger choices.
