Getting there
Smith Falls is a small cascade on a brook in the town of Hardwick, Caledonia County, in the Northeast Kingdom. It is and does not carry a canonical entry in the main Vermont waterfall references; the surrounding banks are largely private. Expect a brief roadside look from a allowed shoulder; do not cross fences. The cascade runs best in spring and within a day or two of rain. For a developed Hardwick-area stop, the Jeudevine Falls donation access on Tucker Brook and the Caspian Lake public beach in Greensboro are the area's stronger choices.
