Getting there
The Tubs is a local name for a short run of potholes and small drops on a brook in Pownal, Bennington County (county stored Unknown and flagged). It is and does not carry a canonical entry in the main Vermont waterfall references; surrounding banks are largely private. Expect a brief roadside look from a allowed shoulder and a short scramble where public access exists. The pools in the potholes are small, cold, and flow-dependent; this is not a destination swim. For a developed Bennington County stop, Lake Shaftsbury State Park off US 7A and the Batten Kill pull-offs along VT 7A in Arlington and Sunderland are the area's stronger choices.
