Getting there
Union Village Falls is a short drop on the Ompompanoosuc River near the village of Union Village -- which is a village inside the town of Thetford, Orange County (stored town 'Union Village' is flagged for the taxonomy pass; canonical town is Thetford). The falls sit near the USACE Union Village Dam recreation area; the USACE gate schedule controls vehicle access Friday through Holiday Monday 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., closed Monday through Thursday and after Labor Day. This is a scenic drop viewed from roadside or the USACE day-use corridor, not a swim at the drop itself -- current over the ledges is steady and the rock is slick. For swimming in the same drive, use the designated river swim in the Union Village recreation area during its gate hours.
