Getting there
Upper Mill Brook Falls is a small cascade on the upper stretch of Mill Brook in Danby, Rutland County, in the Green Mountain National Forest foothills east of US 7. It is and does not carry a canonical entry in the main Vermont waterfall references; the approach crosses a mix of GMNF and private land. Expect an informal path from a allowed shoulder, loose footing, and no signage. The cascade runs best in spring and within a day or two of rain. For a developed Rutland County stop, the Falls of Lana at Silver Lake State Park in Leicester and Emerald Lake State Park beach in East Dorset are the stronger choices.
