Getting there
Wells River Falls #2 is the middle drop in the numbered sequence on the Wells River in the village of Wells River, a village within the town of Newbury, Orange County (stored town flagged). Like the other Wells River drops, this is a village viewing stop -- flow is dam-affected, the channel runs between built-up village frontage, and the surrounding rock is slick. No swim. Park in village on-street or municipal parking and walk between the numbered drops along US 5. For a real Orange County swim, the Union Village Dam recreation area in Thetford (open Fri-Sun and Holiday Mondays only) is the canonical destination.
