Freshwater Swimming From Mystic & Eastern Connecticut
Eastern Connecticut is where lake beaches, state-forest swim areas, and famous gorge waterfalls all sit close enough to belong on the same weekend plan. Mystic is a good starting point, but the real value is inland toward Voluntown and the eastern state forests.
Use this page when you want one shoreline-friendly freshwater loop. Compare the map, then read each guide for parking, swim status, and how much of the stop is really a swim day versus a waterfall day. For the fuller regional version, see swimming holes near Mystic and Eastern Connecticut.
